Did you know that Kandiyohi County has a Political Action Committee (PAC) or Fund? The KCBLF was formed in 2003. In compliance with Minnesota law, the Fund is supported by personal contributions, not corporate dollars.
The Kandiyohi County Business Leadership Fund is designed to seek out and elect qualified people for elected office as well as to help the Kandiyohi County Business Community to be a more aggressive participant in the political process without compromising the Kandiyohi County Business Community's general goals and objectives.
Objective 1:
To actively search out and support candidates for local office who reflect public policy positions of the Kandiyohi County Business Community.
Objective 2:
To establish endorsement criteria that reflects public policy positions of the Kandiyohi County Business Community.
Objective 3:
To supply contributors and the community with accurate and useful information on candidates and issues to heighten political awareness.
The Kandiyohi County Business Leadership Fund plans to be involved in the following: District 13 Senate, District 13 B House races. They also consider involvement in Kandiyohi County Commissioners, Mayor and City Council races and issues in which the public votes or should be able to vote on.
Endorsement decisions are made by the KCBLF Board and guided by the following criteria: The candidate must be electable; The PAC is non-partisan and will support candidates who meet the PAC's objectives, regardless of party affiliation; Candidate must understand and support the concerns or interests of the Kandiyohi County Business Leadership Fund's area businesses and the candidate's campaign position or previous voting record will be used as a determining factor.
